Three Generations of Bodies

I wanted to study family traumas in my work focusing on singular incidents that somehow reveal how the history of a family and also our personal identity is constructed. I feel that there are certain memories or images that I’ve created to mark turning points in my perception of a family. Some of these events I’ve witnessed myself and some have been told to me but have become so
vivid in my mind that they have morphed into actual memories. I wanted to study a shared memory of a family: how the memory changes and reinforces certain incidents until the point that it’s hard to tell what really happened and what is just a part of the story we choose tell ourselves day by day. These are the images that haunt me at night.
